Sustainable Lube: What's the Deal?

Sustainable Lube: What's the Deal?

Are you tired of using lube that's filled with chemicals and not doing your part for the environment? Look no further, because sustainable lube is here to save the day (and your sex life)! But before you jump in, let's talk about the difference between water-based and silicone-based options.

Water-based lube is the go-to choice for many, as it's safe to use with condoms and sex toys made of materials such as silicone, rubber, and latex. Plus, it's easy to clean up and won't stain your sheets. But be warned - not all water-based lubes are created equal. Some contain ingredients like glycerin, which can cause irritation or even yeast infections.

But what about silicone-based lube, you ask? While it can be long-lasting and great for shower sex, it's not compatible with silicone sex toys. The silicone in the lube can react with the silicone in your toy, causing it to break down over time. So if you're a fan of silicone toys (aren't we all?), stick to water-based lube.

Now, you might be thinking, "But wait, isn't sustainable lube more expensive?" Not necessarily. At BON. Pleasure, we are HUGE fans of the gals at FIGR and their products, FIGR Fluid (water-based) and FIGR Slip (silicone-based). They're reasonably priced and free of those yuck ingredients that can cause irritation and yeast infections.

FIGR Fluid is a water-based personal lubricant that has been formulated to mimic naturally occurring lubrication whenever you crave additional moisture. Made using finger lime and strawberry gum extracts, you won't find any nasties in this bad boy!

FIGR Slip is a silicone based lubricant that is waterproof & hypoallergenic. Slip is the perfect companion for all types of play, on all types of terrain, friction free.

Sustainable lube is the way to go for a healthy, happy sex life. And if you want to go the extra mile, we check out the great products on the FIGR website for a natural, eco-friendly option that won't let you down (or cause any awkward irritation). So go forth and get your (sustainable) freak on!
